Best Decision I Made Last Week
We at Electric Pursuit are all about embracing the good, the bad, and the mundane! Selecting the best decision we made last week is our own way of celebrating the choices we make.
[Jithu] The best decision I made last week was using my persuasive skills to convince the staff to let me have a look at the old Connemera building.
Many websites and blogs feature the Conemmera library as one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. Honestly, it is breathtaking. It is located in Chennai and should be a thing of pride.
The old building is closed off and is hidden by the new building. To get to the old building, one must go through the periodical section and enter through a hallway. Little did I know that the old building is closed to the public and allows only staff.
Blatantly ignoring the signs, I chatted with the man asking him to let me see the library. With gentle persuasion, he let me walk to a certain extent with the promise that I would not photograph it.
Seriously, how could I uphold my promise to not photograph it when it is breathtakingly beautiful? The ceilings are ornately carved and the smell of old books is pungent in the air. I had to sneak some photos. After a bit, I was asked to leave. Which I was happy to do. Here are some shaky nuggets:
[Jess] The best decision I made last week was having an impromptu dance break. I was walking back to my room after filling up my water bottle, Fanfarlo’s “Tightrope” was playing and it made me want to dance.
I gave into that urge and it was delightful! I was giggling to myself and had a cheesy grin on my face the entire time. It was a refreshing and silly moment all rolled up into a flawless 4 minutes of my day.
I would highly recommend adding a regular dance break into your routine. I know I’m going to. Hit that play button and let your limbs flail however they please! I guess I had a dance like nobody’s watching moment and I feel no shame.
