Best Decision I Made Last Week

We at Electric Pursuit are all about embracing the good, the bad, and the mundane! Selecting the best decision we made last week is our own way of celebrating the choices we make.

[Jithu] The best decision I made last week was to bring yoga back into my life again. I’ve only been at my new position for three weeks but these have been one of the most rewarding and stressful weeks of this year so far. I am terrible at managing stress and relaxing. You see, I don’t know how to relax. Relaxing for me is taking care of all the things that I need to get done. Unable to relax, I decided that I needed an activity that will force me to relax. For the past two weeks, I start my day with surya namaskarams or sun salutations. I start my day with 7 to 10 surya namaskarams while I listen to M.S. Subhalakshimi’s Vishnu Sashra Namam (1000 names of Lord Vishnu). The slow melodic chants of M.S. while I focus on my breaths has been amazing. Seriously, I feel so calm and relaxed. It helps me calm myself before I get into the crazy world of program management. While I haven’t made time to do a full 60 minute hatha yoga session, I am able to carve out 15 minutes to do some sun salutations and listen to Sanskrit chants.

[Jess] The best decision I made last week was watching Mary-Kate and Ashley movies. My co-worker and I spent Saturday evening watching Holiday in the Sun and Passport to Paris and it was amazing.

Sometimes I forget how much I loved and/or still love the Olsen twins. We’re planning on making this a re-occurring event because there are still so many different countries we can experience through the eyes of Mary-Kate and Ashley and the cute local boys they always seem to fall in love with.

If you’re interested in re-watching these classic gems of the late ’90s and early ’00s they are all on YouTube here.  Be warned, sometimes the Superchick songs are muted during the shopping montages, but it doesn’t take away from the cinematic glory.
