Best Decision I Made Last Week
We at Electric Pursuit are all about embracing the good, the bad, and the mundane! Selecting the best decision we made last week is our own way of celebrating the choices we make.
[Jithu] The Best decision I made last week was working on being okay with being single. As many may have experienced, being single at an event can evoke feelings of shame. People ask you about your love life and you are reduced to feeling like a feckless teenager. You may encounter the following statements, “But you’re such a great person!” or “is dating terribly difficult?” or “I know a great person for you!” I have to constantly remind myself that being single isn’t this terrible thing. I’m not defined by my singledom and while at a wedding this weekend, I ate a slice of cake and watched the couples get down on the dance floor. It was not as terrible as I had built it up in my mind.
[Jess] The best decision I made last week was to watch Lemonade Mouth, which is a Disney Channel Original Movie from 2011. I feel so out of touch with any DCOMs post 2006. This gem is a classic tale of athletes vs the arts in high schools with a solid mix of The Breakfast Club and High School Musical. I definitely wanted to turn the world into a dance floor like their lyrics encourage after I got done watching.
Sometimes you just need a movie targeted towards tweens and teens in your 20-something life. Check out one of the featured songs, “Determinate“, for a sneak peak at the joy that will be brought into your life when you add this to your Netflix queue.
