Best Decision I Made Last Week

We at Electric Pursuit are all about embracing the good, the bad, and the mundane! Selecting the best decision we made last week is our own way of celebrating the choices we make.

[Jithu] The best decision I made last week was to share the news that I’ll be running the Philadelphia Marathon this fall. While I have shared this news with a select few, I have not announced it on social media or any public forum. It’s because I am terrified and am questioning my ability to complete this feat. 26.2 miles is a lot of distance to cover. I have to be physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to complete this. I don’t know if I can finish it or if I can get myself to the starting line. I have been reading extensively about training programs and many runners recommend that I share this news with as many people as I can. This will keep me honest and provide motivation to train for the race. As I start my marathon training this week, I thought it would be appropriate to share this news publicly. Folks, I am running the Philadelphia Marathon this year.

[Jess] The best decision I made last week was to see the movie Obvious Child. Jenny Slate is amazing and I want to be her BFF.  I can’t even put into words all the wonderful things this movie is.  Just watch the trailer and then find the theater closest to you that Obvious Child is playing at and do yourself a favor and go.

I love both this movie and the title. I will definitely try to watch it sometime, though probably not in theater.

Hoorah for marathon goals! Random unsolicited advice: Training is hard. If you can muster the discipline to stick to a training plan, the actual 26 miles will be NBD. Good luck!
